Cookie Statement – CloudEngagePro.com

Version 2.0 | October 19, 2026

This Cookie Statement explains how CloudEngagePro.com uses cookies and similar technologies, the purposes for which website usage data may be processed, and the choices and rights available to visitors. This statement applies to the Dutch, English, German, and French versions of our website. We aim to provide a transparent, secure, and privacy-conscious digital environment that reflects our professional services in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Account Engagement, and marketing automation.

Our principles are clear: functional technologies support website operations and security, analytics help us evaluate and improve the website, and technologies requiring consent must not be activated without that consent. Visiting our website does not, in itself, constitute consent to tracking, personalized advertising, or other nonessential data processing. We operate in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Dutch Telecommunications Act, and other applicable legislation.

1. Who Is Responsible?

CloudEngagePro.com is operated by OnlineMarketingMan.net, a Dutch sole proprietorship operating under the trade name CloudEngagePro.com. The business acts as the data controller for website data processing activities for which OnlineMarketingMan.net determines the purposes and means of processing.

Where required, appropriate contractual arrangements are established for processing activities performed on behalf of CloudEngagePro. Data processed by CloudEngagePro solely on behalf of Salesforce clients is subject to the responsibilities and agreements applicable to the respective client engagement.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small data files that a website can store on or read from your computer, smartphone, or tablet through your browser. They may be necessary to manage a session, remember a language preference, secure a website, or generate general website usage statistics.

In addition to traditional cookies, similar technologies include local browser storage (local storage), pixels, scripts, and certain technical identifiers. Not every technology creates a separate cookie file. However, applicable legal requirements may also apply when information is stored on or accessed from a visitor’s device without using a traditional cookie.

Some cookies are temporary and disappear when the browser session ends. Others remain on the device for a defined period. A distinction is also made between first-party cookies, which belong to the website being visited, and third-party cookies, which may be placed or accessed by another organization.

3. Our Principles for Cookies and Website Data

CloudEngagePro follows the principle of data minimization. We want to understand the technical reliability and general usage of our website without collecting more information than necessary. Accordingly, the use of analytics or marketing technology must be assessed for necessity, proportionality, privacy implications, and applicable consent requirements.

The distinction between general visitor statistics and personal data is important. Statistics may be presented in aggregated form, but their underlying collection can still include information that directly or indirectly identifies individuals. IP addresses, online identifiers, and certain device information may also constitute personal data under the GDPR.

Our website serves business visitors, organizations, and international clients. Its business-oriented nature does not change the privacy rights of individual visitors. Employees, executives, and other business contacts retain the same statutory protection for personal data processed during their visits.

4. Which Categories of Cookies Do We Distinguish?

When evaluating cookies and similar technologies, we distinguish between essential functions, limited website analytics, and applications that go beyond strictly necessary operations or privacy-friendly statistics. This classification helps determine whether prior consent is required. The cookies actually used and their settings must correspond to this classification.

CategoryPurpose and ApplicationConsent
Functional and essential cookiesSupporting essential website functions, security, session management, and remembering necessary settings. Not required when the statutory exemption for essential cookies applies.
Limited analytics cookiesGeneral website usage statistics, provided the processing has no or only minor privacy implications. Not required where the conditions for the statutory exemption are demonstrably met.
Other analytics cookiesMore extensive analysis of website behavior, visitor flows, or interactions that do not qualify for the statutory exemption.Prior consent is required.
Marketing and tracking cookiesAdvertising measurement, remarketing, personalized profiling, or tracking visitors across different websites.Prior, specific, and informed consent is required.
Cookies from external functionalitySupporting embedded media, external forms, scheduling tools, or other third-party services.Depends on the purpose and technical operation; nonessential tracking requires prior consent.

The inclusion of a category in this overview does not mean that every associated technology is actively used on CloudEngagePro.com. The classification explains the conditions applicable when a particular technology is used or introduced.

5. Functional Cookies and Technical Website Management

Functional cookies support features that are necessary for the reliable operation of the website. Examples include managing a secure WordPress session, processing technical settings, and remembering previously recorded cookie preferences. A language preference may also be functional when it is used solely to remember the selected website language.

CloudEngagePro.com is built on WordPress and uses Elementor and WPML for website management and multilingual publishing. These applications may use technical storage mechanisms that differ between ordinary visitors and logged-in website administrators. A cookie placed only after logging into the WordPress administration environment is therefore not necessarily used for every public website visitor.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent when the applicable statutory conditions are met. However, their purposes must still be transparent. Functional cookies must not be classified as essential when their actual purpose is advertising tracking, extensive behavioral analytics, or another nonessential activity.

6. Website Analytics and Visitor Statistics

Website analytics help us understand which topics attract interest, which pages are visited, and where technical improvements may be necessary. For CloudEngagePro, this may include interest in information about Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Account Engagement, integrations, and consulting services. The purpose of this analysis is to improve the website and make its information more accessible.

Our previous Cookie Statement identified Google Analytics as a possible technology for visitor statistics. If Google Analytics or a comparable service is actually used, its technical configuration, the information transmitted to the provider, retention periods, and applicable consent requirements must be assessed. Relevant considerations include cross-site tracking, the identifiers used, and whether advertising features are enabled.

Limited analytics cookies may be used without prior consent under certain conditions when their impact on privacy is minor. More extensive analytics applications require prior consent. Disabling personalized advertising or limiting IP address processing does not automatically mean that every analytics activity can be conducted without consent.

Aggregated information is preferable for statistical reporting. Information that visitors submit directly through contact forms, including names, email addresses, and message content, should not be unnecessarily transmitted to analytics services as events or URL parameters.

7. Marketing Cookies, Tracking, and Advertising Technology

Marketing cookies may be used to evaluate advertising effectiveness, reach previous website visitors again, or display personalized content. These technologies generally go beyond essential website functions or limited analytics. They may combine information about website visits, advertising interactions, and other online activities.

CloudEngagePro treats marketing and tracking technologies as a separate category requiring prior consent. These technologies must not be activated without valid consent. A general reference to a privacy policy, scrolling through a webpage, or continuing to use the website does not constitute consent.

Our use of Salesforce products in consulting engagements does not mean that website visitors are automatically added to a Salesforce marketing database. Processing prospect information within a client engagement and potentially using tracking technologies on CloudEngagePro.com are separate processing activities that must each be assessed independently.

8. External Services, Links, and Embedded Content

The website may contain links to external service providers, business communication platforms, social networks, and other informational websites. When visitors voluntarily follow an external link, the relevant provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies. The privacy and cookie policies of that external website then apply to activities conducted there.

Embedded content presents a different situation. A video, scheduling tool, map, or external form may establish a connection with a third party as soon as the webpage loads. When such components place nonessential cookies or access information on a visitor’s device, they must be blocked until consent has been obtained where legally required.

External services may be relevant to online appointments and business communications. Their use is distinguished from an ordinary website visit. An appointment request may also contain personal data governed by our Privacy Statement and the applicable terms of the relevant service rather than solely by this Cookie Statement.

9. Giving, Refusing, and Withdrawing Consent

When CloudEngagePro.com uses cookies requiring consent, visitors must be able to decide in advance whether those technologies may be activated. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous. Nonessential categories must not be preselected as accepted.

Accepting and rejecting nonessential cookies must be comparably easy. Refusing tracking or marketing cookies must not interfere with the website’s essential functionality. Visitors must retain the ability to review their cookie preferences and withdraw previously granted consent.

When a cookie banner or preference center is used, the selected preferences must be technically respected. Merely changing a visual setting is insufficient if the corresponding tracking technology remains active. Following withdrawal, further use of the affected nonessential technology must stop. Information previously collected lawfully is not automatically deleted; applicable privacy rights and retention periods continue to govern that information.

The website must provide an easily accessible way to reopen previous cookie choices. Visitors may also delete cookies and locally stored browser information using their browser settings. Removing browser data may require previously saved preferences to be configured again.

10. Retention Periods and Technical Storage

A cookie’s retention period depends on its function, the technology used, and its configured expiration date. A session cookie may disappear when the browser closes, while a cookie remembering preferences may remain active for a longer period. Analytics and marketing cookie retention must be limited to what is necessary and proportionate for the relevant purpose.

There is a distinction between the lifetime of a cookie on a visitor’s device and the retention period of information received by an external service. The deletion or expiration of a cookie does not automatically mean that previously collected statistical information is deleted at the same time.

For cookies actually used, information should be available concerning the cookie name, provider, function, category, and retention period. Changes to the website configuration must be reviewed to ensure that this information continues to reflect actual technical operations.

Information processed in technical server logs may have a different retention period from browser cookies. Such records support activities including security, troubleshooting, and website availability. Additional information about the general processing and retention of personal data is provided in our Privacy Statement.

11. Data Processing by Service Providers

External providers may be involved in hosting, security, website analytics, and additional digital functionality. Depending on their services, they may process personal data on behalf of OnlineMarketingMan.net or act as independent data controllers for their own purposes.

When suppliers process personal data on behalf of CloudEngagePro, appropriate arrangements must cover processing purposes, confidentiality, security, retention periods, and the potential involvement of subprocessors. Where providers collect information for their own purposes, the information that must be disclosed to visitors in advance must be assessed separately.

Not every supplier technically involved in operating the website automatically receives information about every visitor. Actual data flows depend on the services enabled, the website configuration, and visitors’ preferences.

12. International Data Transfers

CloudEngagePro operates in an international business environment. Some digital service providers may be established outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or may access information from other countries. This may also apply when the website uses services provided by internationally operating technology companies.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, a valid legal basis for that transfer must exist. Depending on the circumstances, this may involve a European Commission adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses. Additional technical, organizational, and contractual safeguards must be implemented where necessary.

The use of a European data center does not, by itself, mean that data is processed exclusively within the EEA. Remote support, subprocessors, and the actual configuration of data flows may also be relevant.

13. Security and Responsible Data Use

Appropriate security measures are applied to the management of CloudEngagePro.com, taking into account the nature of the website and the risks associated with data processing. Relevant considerations include secure connections, access management, limiting unnecessary data collection, and responsible management of website components.

Security technologies may process technical information to prevent misuse, unauthorized access, and service disruptions. Such processing must remain limited to what is necessary for the relevant security purposes. Security technologies must not be used for incompatible commercial activities or profiling without a separate assessment.

14. Your Rights and Our Privacy Statement

When personal data is processed through cookies or similar technologies, visitors may exercise the rights available under the GDPR, subject to applicable legal conditions. These include access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection. Consent may be withdrawn when the relevant processing is based on consent.

The ability to identify information and associate it with an individual depends partly on the technology involved. Requests concerning information held by an external service provider may require additional information or cooperation from that provider.

Further information about personal data processing, lawful bases, retention periods, international transfers, and the exercise of privacy rights is available in our Privacy Statement.

If you believe personal data is not being processed lawfully, you may submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or another competent European privacy supervisory authority.

15. Changes and Updates to This Cookie Statement

We may update this Cookie Statement when the website, technologies used, service providers, legal requirements, or data processing practices change. Where relevant changes occur, we assess whether existing consent remains valid and whether visitors must be informed again or asked to provide renewed consent.

The latest version is published on CloudEngagePro.com and includes a version date. Changes to the Cookie Statement do not automatically alter the website’s technical operation. The actual cookie configuration and the published information must remain consistent.
